First off you need your tools. At the minimum you need:

• Jeweler's lens - since they are so small you need binoculars to see the detail of your art(see the video.  Looks like a welder's helmet)
• Hammer
• Punch (nail will work)
• Dremel tool with various fine working tips
• Patience

Next you need to decide on your art.  Do you make a hobo profile based upon the figures and coins made in that era, or do you do your own thing?  That's up to you.

It's best to decide what you want to do first, and possibly have it sketched out.

Next you punch out the main silhouette of the design.

Finally, take the dremel for the finer detail.

Lastly, sand, or use hand jeweler's tools to finish it off.
